She was just a regular, unwanted kid, until she was lucky enough to get a job under the best magician in the world! Unfortunately for her, her new boss is a self absorbed sociopath.
Updates are currently Monday, with some sporadic mid-week updates if I have time!
Critique
Allow me some criticism? Surelly your new way of taking the characters is improving. But, i liked the previous style more; it was so fluid and and funny while progressing steadly with the story... Now i think all the characters kind of grew up out of nothing, and pages with tons of speech (and almost no jokes) become abundant. It´s like the story itself is abruptly cut, from a funny/lovely history to a fanservice-driven scheme.
That´s my opnion tough. I´ll be glad to hear opnion of others too ;)
@EstevaoPB: I will say, I welcome critiques on my comics, and have no problem with that! Though I will answer some things.
For one, I will say that I will not revert styles. This updated style gives me better usage of anatomy skills so that I may actually improve my art, so I'm sorry that won't be changing.
I am confused what you mean on "The characters grew out of nothing", and honestly, there is plot-related stuff that must be taken care of before I can continue with the comic. The characters thoughts and emotions on subjects, along with rules about how magic and the actual world works, are important to convey before I continue further. Perhaps I may have been going a bit too quickly, and that is the issue? Nevertheless these must be covered. That being said, I will try to slow things down a little bit.
The only part I outright absolutely disagree with is the "Fanservice-driven scheme". How exactly is Gloomverse coming across as fanservice?
@Loverofpiggies: Yeah, i could see that you changed the style of your works to make the story even better (and that´s awesome. It´s no use to get stuck on a stage of your work because someone liked it, thus making the same thing again and again), it´s a matter of time for you to get the best of this new style.
The "characters grew up" thing is just because of the change. ;)
About the progression of the story, i think that´s what happened. There was this sudden change of pace; We´ll be always here reading, you can take your time =D
And i think that´s why i tought it was fan-service; so many emotions exposed so quickly...
And that´s one hell long comment, thanks for reading ;)
@EstevaoPB: Hmm good points! Alright, maybe I was moving too fast. Don't worry, I'll try to fix that little issue. And yeah, when someone has a complaint (or a critique) I feel its important to discuss it with them and get a better understanding. Sometimes as the artist, you aren't fully aware of how the comic is being percieved by others, I usually end up being more focused on plot/character development, ect. ect. So its good to know. And I will say thank you for explaining the fanservice thing. I've never been a fan of fanservice (lul) and don't include it in my comics. Unless its Seaweed, in which thats more of a girl who has no shame type thing. And of course! I read all comments, I just usually don't have time to reply to them all. Speaking of...
@Daveanthony: Oh god, that was unintentional! hahaha. Though I think I may have been one of the few that genuinely didn't like that anime.
@Loverofpiggies: Nice! Good that i could pass on my feelings ;) By the way, soon i´ll be doing a comic as well, hope you can drop by eventually and give some first impressions ;)
um.. not to be a pain, I really love this page, but I noticed that on the second panel, Wallis's poster was on the right of the hat shelf, but on the last panel, the poster is to the right of the hat shelf, but the same hats from before are also on this new shelf, if that makes sense.
I read your comic a while ago when assistant was still a boy, and now I just read the entire archive and goodness! I actually love it a lot more. Wallis actually has a heart! And the characters overall seem to be more enduring. Can't wait for the next updates, I know I'll be reading this frequently. C=
@GrovyleGoodbye128: Yeah I know. >: Being unmagical in a magical world is a sad thing!
@AuraX (Guest): I'd think so! Or just become accustomed to it. :0
@Daveanthony: Lul, makes more sense then all the weird explanations Battler uses!
@EstevaoPB: Sure, I won't mind! As long as you're looking for a real critique and no pandering. Though I promise I'm not harsh in any way! I just call em as I see em!
@KireiStar: You're not a pain, don't worry about it. :> I fixed the issue, thanks for bringing it up!
@vapidity: Oh wow, thank you very much! Yeah, thats why I did the remake in the first place. The first version felt like it had so much more potential and I hated where my characters went. ;_; specially Wallis. Thanks so much for coming back, I'm happy you like the reboot!
Random page enjoy!
